As with anodized titanium, Spectrum Diamond coating reflects and refracts white light.
However, instead of using an artificially thickened oxide of titanium, the "interference" colors are produced by varying thicknesses of transparent diamond material. This results in a far more beautiful and durable color treatment for your ring.
Spectrum Diamond film colors are extremely durable and respond well to most daily wear situations. This is an improvement over anodized titanium oxide finishes, which are normally restricted to the grooves and recessed parts of a ring and polished off the outside layer to avoid ugly scratches.
With Spectrum Diamond treatment, the actual coating is tougher than the titanium it covers, allowing you to enjoy the brilliant coloration on the entire outer surface of the ring.
We have shown many different styles of our titanium rings that have been treated with Spectrum Diamond to show you the appearance you may expect. It is important to understand that the colors are produced in a random "organic" manner and cannot be controlled in terms of precise detail. The "bursts of character" are unique to each ring and it is this very uniqueness that should appeal to you. The option of having your ring treated with Spectrum Diamond is provided in the "Finish" area on the order page for all rings that are compatible with this process.

Like The Titanium Workshop's other diamond treatments, Spectrum Diamond is completely bio-compatible and neutral to all acids and bases. The treatment provides an ultra-glossy appearance and smooth feel to our aircraft-grade titanium rings that has to be seen and felt to be truly appreciated. Your Spectrum Diamond treated ring from The Titanium Workshop will be comfortable to wear and will resist day-to-day abrasions. Its durability falls between that of our Clear Diamond and Black Diamond coatings. (The Clear Diamond coating provides 10% enhanced durability over untreated aircraft grade titanium; the Spectrum Diamond coating provides ten times this enhanced durability, and is 50 times more durable than regular color anodizing.) Add a new dimension to your special ring with a Spectrum Diamond coating! |
