The Titanium Workshop... the Highest Technology Jewellery
The Titanium Workshop is operated by Arnell Workshop inc. We are an online jewelry store providing unique handcrafted aircraft grade titanium, black titanium rings, rings for men and titanium wedding bands.
We were the first to use of the ultra strong and authentic aircraft titanium alloys 6Al-4V and 6Al6V2Sn wedding rings on the internet as well as the first with the titanium tension setting engagement ring concept. You will now see both ideas showing in many places.
The Abyss Replica ring was also first brought into creation by our company, as documented in the commentary in the DVD version of the Abyss movie. The website address shown in chapter 10 entitled "The Ring" shows our old but still active internet URL (http://titaniumengagement.com/abyss.html). Get the DVD and see it yourself !
First known as "Menachite", titanium was re-named 200 years ago by one Dr. Martin H. Klaproth, who referred to the giants of Greek mythology, the Titans. Titanium's atomic number is 22, with the atomic weight being 47.9.
Titanium is completely neutral to the human body and is used in the medical field to replace heart valves, and bones. Because of its neutrality it will not cause discoloration nor irritate the most sensitive skin types. Although titanium's working techniques are more constraining than the ones used for precious metals; titanium and high-grade titanium alloys are perfectly suitable and the best choice for use as jewellery, watches, body jewellery and mens weddingrings. In fact, a ring or piece of jewellery made of aircraft grade titanium may outlive its owner !
Aircraft grade titanium alloys are about 3 times stronger than stainless steel, and approximately 45% lighter. They make awesome mens rings and wedding rings and are much more durable and resistant to wear than gold, silver, or platinum. Aircraft grade titanium (6Al/4V) is 300 to 800% stronger than basic grade (C.P.) titanium. Extra-hard titanium (6Al/6V/2Sn) is approximately 130% stronger than 6Al/4V titanium. Basic grade titanium's hardness can be compared to platinum's, only much lighter.
Today, titanium qualities are well known and appreciated. It is prominently used in the sports and leisure industry, and has numerous medical applications. It is also used in achitecture (Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain), furniture, accessories (eyeglass frames, watches, cases, clips...). Apple computers put a titanium laptop computer on the market; we now can even find "titanium" batteries !
